Forfar Angus Gold Forum
Note of meeting held in the Committee Room, Town and County Buildings,
on Tuesday 10 April 2012
Present: Helen Scott, Peggy McBay, Grace Murray, Betty Hosie, Barbara Stewart
Apologies: Margaret Ritchie
The meeting started with refreshments and a warm welcome to our last meeting together.
Grace indicated that she is now available to attend the conference and it was agreed that she would get on the mini-bus with Pat Gouck, on St James’ Road, beside Asda. Barbara to contact Kathleen to let her know Grace will be an additional passenger on the bus. Grace, Betty and Helen chose which workshops they would like to attend at the conference. Transport arrangements were confirmed but a follow-up phone call will be required to confirm whether Asda will be providing a buffet and refreshments or whether participants will need to bring a packed lunch.
All Forum members present looked back across the year to remember which activities and discussions they had participated in and what they felt they had gained from their participation in the Forfar Angus Gold Forum. This information, along with group photographs will be displayed at the Angus Gold conference.
Colin M Smith and David Irons & Sons had not responded to a letter asking whether they want to continue to be involved in the entitlement card scheme. Betty volunteered to go into both shops to say that they have been removed from the Angus Gold website and to ask whether they want to be reinstated.
Information regarding the NHS consultation event ‘It’s Your NHS’ and Dundee Carers Centre ‘Carers Question Time’ was distributed and discussed.
On being asked what Forum members would like to discuss at the next meeting Betty asked that Maggie Sherrit attends to discuss the future of the Forfar Angus Gold Forum.
Barbara apologized to Betty for not finding the information she had asked for regarding the Housing Joint Action Group but promised to e-mail Graeme Hodge to ask him to take up the enquiry and contact Betty directly with the information.
Barbara and Forum members then enjoyed a wee mutual admiration session where they reminisced about time spent together and how much they have all shared and learned from each other.
Forum members presented Barbara with a card and gift on the occasion of her retirement.
Date for next meeting: Tuesday 8 May at 10.30am in the Committee Room in Town & County Buildings .
