Kirriemuir Angus Gold Forum
Note of Meeting
Wednesday 11 April 2012
Lyle Court
Present: Win De Ciantis, Betty Rogerson, Betty Volume, Joan Brown, Jean Sutherland, Barbara Stewart CLDW, Graeme Hodge Community Planning
Apologies: Alastair Cochrane-Dyet,
Barbara had, that day, sent a copy of the letter, from Webster’s High School, to Helen Reid, Helen has responded to say she will make enquiries and liaise with Maggie Sherrit, who will in turn report back to Forum members.
Betty R mentioned that the monthly shopping trip had not been able to take place since Alastair broke his ankle and, obviously, has not been able to drive the bus. It was agreed that in such circumstances it would be helpful to have a standby driver and Graeme suggested contacting the Volunteer Centre Angus. Barbara agreed to phone Betty R with the phone number for VCA and Betty will contact them.
Transport arrangements for the Angus Gold conference were confirmed and Betty R chose the workshops she would like to attend and agreed to pass on the relevant information to Kate.
Forum members then looked back over the last year remembering the activities and discussions they had participated in and what impact they felt it had on the learning and health. A separate note was taken of this information and will be displayed, along with information from all the other Forums, at the conference.
Graeme Hodge led a discussion about the possible future of Age Concern in Kirriemuir. He is currently working with Age Concern office bearers to devise a consultation exercise which will be held in the local area. Forum members were receptive to Graeme’s input and fully support the proposals put forward.
Forum members gave Barbara a presentation on the occasion of her retiral.
Date of next meeting: Wednesday 9 May 2012 in Lyle Court at 11.00am
