Volunteers Role and Responsibilities

To have a basic understanding of I.T. and a willingness to learn unfamiliar areas if required.

To commit to an agreed number of hours per week volunteering with Angus Gold. You negotiate times that suit you best.

To have patience and accept that learners may take some time to build their skills and confidence when using a computer.

To shadow the IT Tutor to observe the different learning and teaching styles (we use a hands off approach when teaching).

To become familiar with accessibility equipment and software (if required).

To contribute as much as you want to the continued development of the work of the team with your ideas and experience.

To offer support to learners on a one-to-one basis, sometimes in their own home.
What Support Will We Give You?

Volunteers will be supported by a Community Learning & Development Worker.

Travel Expenses will be covered (at 12.6p per mile).

Supply of equipment when needed e.g. laptops etc.

Volunteers will be matched with a learner in their home area - if possible.

Volunteers will receive ongoing training and Induction.

We will follow the Community Learning & Development Volunteer Policy and Guidelines.

- Step 1 - Send out an Application Form.
- Step 2 - Arrange a very Informal Interview.
- Step 3 - Submit PVG Application Forms (official checking to confirm you are permitted to work with vulnerable groups)
