Will there be anything for me to do socially during my stay?
Both homes have vehicles which are used regularly for outings, community involvement, concerts, trips and appointments. Various local clubs, recreation and sports centres will also be accessible should you wish to participate. And staff will support you in pursuing personal hobbies and activities throughout your stay.
What kind of meals will I get?
There is a cook employed within the staff teams at both homes. They will provide a varied, nutritious diet , with a choice of meals provided daily and menus changed frequently. You can be consulted regarding any food preferences and menu planning, and special diets will be accommodated. Should you want to be involved in the cooking and preparation of your own meals, there also facilities available to do this.
Can I bring my own things with me to the Home?
You will have your own bedroom which you are encouraged to personalise with your own possessions. The bedrooms are currently furnished to a high standard, and have both wash hand basins and TV aerial sockets. The staff at the home or your Care Manage will be able to help you with any further queries.
How can I arrange to stay for a short or long term placement?
Contact your Care Manager who will explain the process in full. They will help you understand the costs, the availability of places, and arrange a visit to the home of your choice so that you can see the facilities for yourself. To ensure that all your individual needs are met you will be consulted throughout the process
Can my friends and family visit me when I move in?
Yes. How often and when they visit will be entirely up to you. Visitors are welcome throughout your stay with us, and there are quieter areas within the home where you can enjoy the sociability of sharing refreshments.
However, your visitors will be encouraged to respect other residents' rights to privacy, dignity, independence and choice when visiting.
Will I get privacy in my own room to have relationships?
Everyone has the right to privacy, dignity, self expression and choices that enable them to lead a full and active life. The home's philosophy of care will reflect these standards, and staff and Care Managers will include your personal wishes in your individual care plan.
