If you look in phone directories for plumbers, electricians and other tradesmen you'll find lots of names and some quite flashy ads.

But out of all those names how do you know which ones are reliable?

That's where ARTS comes in.

ARTS works by inviting all businesses that trade in Angus to apply. All applicants are visited by Angus Trading Standards to make sure that their business meets the criteria set out in the Code of Practice.

Members of the scheme will  be supplied with a supplied with a certificate and window stickers for both business vehicles and premises. A trader who is a member of the scheme agrees to the Code of Practice and to adopt certain business practices.

It can be difficult to know which traders you can trust and which ones you can’t. The scheme helps to eliminate the rogues out there. From an Angus Reputable Trader you can expect full disclosure of call out charges, to be notified in advance when price or timescale is likely to change, written quotes on request and a friendly after sales service. This scheme will help give piece of mind to consumers when choosing a trader.

There is a consumer feedback forum, where prospective customers can view comments and ratings given by previous customers. An Angus Reputable Trader will leave a feedback form for you to fill out so that you can give your comments also.
