Referred for a home visit by a paramedic and specialist nurse - the See and Treat team
The See and Treat service is delivered by a two-person team of a paramedic and a minor injury and illness nurse practitioner working together providing a mobile service between the hours of 10pm and 8am covering the Montrose, Brechin and Forfar area.
The See and Treat rapid response vehicle will be fitted out with the same lifesaving equipment as a normal ambulance. By combining the advanced skills of these health professionals a wide range of non life-threatening illnesses and physical injuries can be diagnosed and treated within the patient's own home where appropriate.
However, patients can still attend their local MIIUs at Forfar, Brechin and Montrose between 8am until 10pm.
For people living in Arbroath, Carnoustie and Monifieth there is no change to the way you access out-of-hours services at Arbroath PCEC.
Data collected by the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Angus Community Health Partnership indicates there is an average demand across the Brechin, Forfar and Montrose areas of eight patients per night either seeking assistance at MIIUs or calling the Scottish Ambulance Service for non life-threatening care.
